Vilslev shelter site is located right down by the Konge River, where the pace is typically determined by the water, the weather and how far it is to the next stage. Here, canoeists can land at the canoe landing site, and the place also serves as a simple overnight stop for outdoor enthusiasts on land.
What makes it special is not luxury, but the combination: riverbank, shelter life and the village right next door. You can sit at the site and have both the Konge River, the fishing platform and Vilslev within a few steps.
The Konge River Trail passes the area by Vilslev. The trail is described as a primitive footpath, marked with poles, and it follows, among other things, the river, meadows, field roads and a few stretches of asphalt. In many places it runs across private land, so the route must be followed on foot along the red-topped poles.
From the area by Vilslev you can also get a view of Vilslev Church with Vilslev Spang in the foreground, a small reminder that the river here is not only nature, but also an old crossing point and borderland.
The accessible fishing spot by the shelter site is intended for people with mobility impairments, and other users should give way. There are residents living nearby, and the site must be quiet at 22:00.
