Trelde Næs

Trelde Næs is a beautiful nature area with forest, salt marsh, high cliffs, and a lovely bathing beach. The beaches and forest are home to a diverse range of animal and plant life, with many species of orchids and an exceptionally rich variety of fungi, where 50 species of red-listed rare fungi have been found. The area is a must for all nature lovers.

On the south side of the headland along Lillebælt, the plastic and smooth Little Belt clay slides into the water, creating a dramatic landscape with fallen trees and large tongues extending out onto the coast. The clay in the cliffs is nearly 50 million years old, and unique geological finds have been made, including fossilized fish skulls and a sword from a swordfish, as well as many more common fossils. It is not without reason that Trelde Næs has been designated a national geological area of interest.
