Tistrup Park is a green breathing space in Tistrup, where the lake is the natural centrepiece. Small paths lead around the area, and along the way there are picnic tables and small sheltered spots, so a short walk can easily turn into a packed-lunch break. It is a place that works best without big plans: a little play, a little fresh air and somewhere to sit.
The playground is close to the other places to linger, and the packed-lunch shelter, barbecue, pavilions and learning hut make the park useful for families, small groups and locals out for a walk. The park is not just a decorative garden, but a local community effort. It was created through the residents’ association, voluntary work and concrete contributions from the town. The speaker’s platform is built from natural stone from the surrounding area and stands as a rather tangible piece of furniture for the local willingness to gather.
On 29 May 1932, Tistrup Anlæg was inaugurated as a local joint project. Around 300 people from Tistrup and the surrounding parishes took part, and the place then included a lake, fairground, plantation, stadium, and tennis court.
A special detail is the speaker’s platform: It was built from natural stone sourced from the local area. From here, the grounds were presented as a shared asset created through volunteer effort.
