60 mThrough the Thicket to Hansen’s Bridge
Hvorfor? Starter næsten ved pladsen og fortsætter å-oplevelsen gennem egekrat til Hansens Bro.
Stemmeværkspladsen lies on the edge of Varde Å, where meadow, river valley and forest meet with a very tangible story about water. From here, a trip can begin on foot, from the saddle, by bicycle or from a canoe, and the site serves both as a rest area and as a base for a night under cover.
The exhibition, open around the clock, helps make sense of the landscape around you: here, water was once diverted away from its natural course and sent towards Karlsgårdeværket to generate electricity. Today the weir is gone, but the name remains.
From the site, Kanalstien follows the former Ansager Canal, and there is also a path connection towards Ansager and Vejlevej. It is a place where outdoor life and local water history lie right on top of each other.
Fra Ansager følges den smalle og smukke Kanalvej ud til Stemmeværkspladsen. Der kan parkeres på hele den åbne plads og ved siden af shelterne.
There is a floating jetty in Varde Å made for canoes. If you paddle from Ansager, you can stop here. If you continue down the river, you will first come to Hessel Bridge near Hodde, and later to Varde.
