Skovsnogen is not an exhibition you walk around. Here, you go in among the trees, up and down the paths and on to the next artwork, which suddenly appears on the forest floor, between the trunks or in a clearing. The artists create works for the site, so nature is not merely a backdrop but part of the experience.
The walk through Deep Forest Art Land passes through a forest that changes character along the way: dark coniferous forest, light beech trees, hills, meadow, stream and wetter areas. The northern part is hilly in several places, while the southern part slopes down towards a river valley with ponds, a stream and marshland.
Along the way, you may encounter works such as Falden Måne, Thoreau's Cabin, Giant Beetle and Skulpturkirkegården. The cemetery says a great deal about the place: some works are not intended as eternal monuments, but are allowed to slowly decay and merge back into the forest.
Only Skovsnogen by Monstrum is approved as a playground, while the rest of the forest is used at your own risk. At Døvling Å, visitors are warned about strong currents, and Døvlingvej divides the area into a northern and a southern part, where cars and agricultural machinery may pass.
