The forest playground in Ansager Plantation is a small place for a short outing, where children can play among the trees without the day having to be packed like a major excursion. The site is located in the forest, so the atmosphere is more of a forest break than a traditional playground park.
There is a slide, swing, and climbing frame here, and the walk in from the stadium is short enough that even smaller children can join. The path is stated to be suitable for prams, strollers, and wheelchairs, but it is still a forest trip where the ground surface and weather can be felt.
The playground is designed to go together with activity in the plantation. While the children find the equipment, adults can use the outdoor fitness area or take a short walk on the trails. In the area there are both a hiking route and MTB trails, but the MTB trails are stated not to cross close to the access path or the playground itself.
Tables and benches make the place suitable for a picnic or a break on a walk. There is no toilet at the playground, so practical needs are best handled in advance. The special thing is precisely the size: a manageable patch of forest where children can get dirt on their shoes before the trip heads back toward Ansager.
