Randbøl Heath

With 750 hectares, Randbøl Heath is Denmark’s largest inland heath. The heath lies on sandy soil consisting of windblown sand, which in some places has formed dunes.

As early as 9132, the heath was protected, but heather heathland is not a stable natural state, so the heath is managed by continuously removing tree growth.

There are many hiking, cycling, and riding trails in the area.

Frederikshåb Plantation

Randbøl Heath lies side by side with the beautiful Frederikshåb Plantation, which has been a popular destination since the state decided to establish the plantation in 1802.

Naturrum Kirstinelyst

Naturrum Kirstinelyst is the gateway to Randbøl Hede, with an exhibition, toilets, barbecue facilities and tables for public use.

The exhibition opens your eyes to the lives of the heath farmers, the flora and fauna, and exciting stories connected to the area.
