Port d’Andratx

The harbour is the main stage

Port d’Andratx lies around a natural harbour on Mallorca’s southwest coast, where much of the experience is gathered close to the water. Along the harbour promenade, the marina, fishing harbour, restaurants and views sit side by side, so the place works best as a slow walk along the pier and quay rather than as a town to tick off in a few minutes.

The contrast is part of the point: yachts and an exclusive harbour setting take up a lot of space, but the fishing boats and La Llotja keep the older coastal town alive beneath the surface.

Fish, seafood and La Llotja

Along the harbour there are restaurants serving fish and seafood, and the view over the harbour is a big part of the meal. La Llotja by the harbour is the town’s fish market and a visible sign that Port d’Andratx is not only marina and holiday homes. The municipality states that in the afternoon, freshly caught fish can be bought directly from the fishermen.

Out towards coves and mountain route

The harbour town lies close to the coastal landscape around Cala Llamp, Cala Moragues and Cala d’Egos. For hikers, the place also has another role: Port d’Andratx is marked as km 0 for GR 221, Ruta de Pedra en Sec, with a connection towards La Trapa and further into the Tramuntana landscape.
