Øster Hurup is a true seaside resort with Denmark’s most child-friendly beach. It also has a charming harbor area and a main street filled with restaurants, cafés, and shops.
The old fishing village has just under 1,000 inhabitants in the winter months, but during the summer season Øster Hurup buzzes with tourists and the population multiplies.
Den østlige del af Lille Vildmose går ud til Kattegat ved Øster Hurup Strand. Området på ca. 7.800 ha er blandt kandidaterne til at blive nationalpark i Danmark. Der et et besøgscenter og stianlæg med fugletårne.
Der er frit adgang til den nordlige del mosen i egen bil med mulighed for at se elge, krondyr, traner og ørne samt mange andre af hedens planter og insekter som fx foranderlig blåfugl på fotoet.
