In Søndre Plantage, just 3.5 kilometres from the centre of Varde, you will find Nysø, where you can take a dip and relax on the landscaped sandy beach.
Nysø is a gravel pit lake and the water is clean. Dogs are not allowed to swim in the lake, but southwest of Nysø there is a small lake where dogs are allowed to swim.
At Nysø you will find Nysø Shelter Site. The three shelters, Mælkehatten, Støvbolden and Kantarellen, are located together in a small clearing, but you can book them individually. In the same area you will also find the campfire shelter Karl Johan, table/bench sets, a playground, water and a toilet.
