A little north of Hvide Sande lies Nr. Lyngvig Church. Its location on the Holmsland Klit spit is unique - in the middle of the dunes, with the North Sea on one side and Ringkøbing Fjord on the other.
The church was built in the Neo-Romanesque style in 1869 from red brick with a low-pitched slate roof. In 1955, Lyngvig Church was given a tower and a tile roof. The church ships were donated in memory of sailors shipwrecked on the coast off Nr. Lyngvig. In the cemetery there is a large memorial cross for 5 rescue workers who died in 1951.
The cemetery has been extended to the east with a dune cemetery down towards Ringkøbing Fjord. Here, people who have lived their entire lives in the dunes are offered the opportunity to be buried in the area's unique and natural landscape.
Facing the traditional cemetery, sea buckthorn and pine bushes have been planted. Towards the surrounding dune, a fence of rough quarter-sawn oak posts has been erected, placed close together and following the contours of the terrain. Between the burial plots, winding concrete paths have been laid
