Nearby viewpoint with the same dramatic Formentor panorama and historic coastal defense.
Mirador Es Colomer is one of the places on the Formentor road where the landscape seems almost designed to stop traffic. From the viewpoint you look out over the Mediterranean, the rugged coastline of Serra de Tramuntana and the small rocky islet of El Colomer, which lies like a dark dot in the blue.
The experience itself is short and concentrated: a stone staircase leads up toward the panorama, and along the way the angle of the cliffs and the sea keeps changing. It is especially a place for those who want a view without a long hike, but the surface, stairs and accessibility are not specified in more detail.
The viewpoint is known as a sunset spot, and groups often gather here as the light falls over the Mediterranean. That also makes the place less quiet at popular times, so the experience is as much a meeting with the rhythm of Formentor as with the view itself.
The viewpoint is located on Ma-2210 toward Far de Formentor and is also referred to as Mirador de la Creueta or Mirador del Colomer. On arrival, there is a monument to Antonio Parietti Coll, the engineer behind both the road and the viewpoint. In the summer season, it is worth checking the access rules for the Formentor road in advance; bus 334 stops at the mirador and connects, among other places, Alcúdia, Port de Pollença and the lighthouse.
