The Angels Tell 2023

The Music Garden in winter dress

Englene Fortæller 2023 was Mariehaven seen in a different season. The garden, often associated with summer songs and concerts, was for a short period used as an outdoor Christmas exhibition with lights, colors, natural materials, and angel figures as the recurring theme.

The experience was intended as a walk through the garden. One of the clearest images from the coverage is the journey in along the long passage, further out onto the stage and from there the view across the large lawn, where three guardian angels stood as a striking sight in the darkness.

Not just decoration on branches

The exhibition was built on more than Christmas lights set up in a familiar garden. Materials from nature, decorations, and figures were used for small stories about angels and about Marie from the garden. This gave the event a calmer tone than a classic Christmas market: more light storytelling and garden walking, less market bustle.

Floral artist Johnny Haugaard was the artistic driving force, and the work was created together with volunteers around Mariehaven and Blomstermanden’s network.

An archived Christmas glimpse

The page describes a finished event, not a current opening time. In connection with the exhibition, Restaurant Galleriet offered, among other things, lunch, mulled wine, pancakes, and coffee. Here, Mariehaven had a quiet winter role, where the stage did not carry the music, but the view of shining angels on the grass.
