1.0 kmThe Wadden Sea Centre in Vester Vedsted
Hvorfor?
At Mandø Ebbevej, you are not just standing by a road, but at the edge of a landscape that changes character with the water. At low tide, the flat seabed opens up, and the brushwood markers show the old road across the mudflats.
From the small area at the start, you can take a short walk in the shallow water and on the exposed seabed when conditions are safe. Here, mussels, worms, crabs, shrimp, and small fish are close at hand, while birds use the area as a resting place and pantry.
Ebbevejen is not the public road for cars to Mandø. Cars must use Låningsvejen farther north, and only with proper awareness of tides, water levels, and local conditions. The Wadden Sea often looks like calm land, but it is still seabed.
