Portrait on a Memorial

A grave memorial in the cemetery bears a portrait of a woman. The portrait is a central part of the memorial and gives it a personal character. The graves around it place the memorial in the cemetery setting at Tømmerby Church. The image thus brings together a portrait and a grave site.

It is the portrait, rather than the cemetery surroundings, that gives the grave memorial its personal character.
