Kerteminde

Kerteminde is the epitome of a Funen market town. You walk along narrow streets through the town, the houses have red tiled roofs, and there are old merchant’s houses. An idyllic atmosphere right by the Great Belt.

Fyns Hoved

There are several lovely walks in the natural area where Funen comes to an end. It is a hilly landscape with grazed moraine hills covered in wildflowers. From the hills, there are views of many key features in the area: the Lindø shipyard, the Great Belt Bridge, and the refinery near Kalundborg. Particularly striking is the abundance of small islands, spits, and bays, which makes the walk an interesting and varied nature experience.

The Ladby Ship

By Kerteminde Fjord lies the burial mound where the Ladby Ship was found. The ship was used for a burial during the Viking Age and is Denmark’s only preserved one of its kind.

You can enter the burial mound where the ship was found and see an exhibition.
