Where the stream becomes beach

Henne Mølle Å does not end quietly. At Henne Mølle Å Strand, the freshwater meets the North Sea, and the outlet can shift as currents, sand and storm surges work with the landscape. This gives the place a somewhat rugged edge: a stream that does not quite want to stay fixed, and a beach where the sea clearly determines the shape.

Calm between the neighboring beaches

The beach lies south of Henne Strand and between Henne Strand and Børsmose Strand. It is described as a place with fewer people than the larger neighboring beaches, and the area around the beach is protected nature with dunes, heath and forest. Here, it is not a long list of activities that carries the experience, but the meeting between watercourse, sand and open coast.

From Filsø to the North Sea

The stream’s water comes from Filsø, which today is again a large shallow natural area. By the lake there are birdwatching towers, trails, boardwalks and viewpoints, and the area is important for resting migratory birds, especially in spring and autumn. At the coast, nature is more exposed: the North Sea beach can have wild waves, strong surf and rip currents. South of Henne Mølle Å there is also a marked area with a bathing ban; outside the marked zone, swimming and staying are stated to be safe.
