Hattesgaard Café on Rømø

Coffee stop in Tvismark

Hattesgaard Café is located at Hattesvej 17 in Tvismark on Rømø and is both a café, antiques shop and second-hand shop. Here, the break is not just about coffee and cake, but also the setting: an old Rømø farm where the café is housed in the former cowshed.

The place states that it is open Tuesday to Saturday, but the hours vary in the available material, including seasonal opening from 7 April. Therefore, check the current opening hours if you are planning your trip specifically around the café.

Home baking and old things

The café serves freshly ground coffee, tea, homemade cake and bread, as well as a light lunch. Do not necessarily go looking for one particular cake; the day's homemade baking is part of the appeal. The antiques and second-hand section is stated to be open during the café's opening hours, so the coffee break can turn into a browse among shelves, porcelain and old finds.

A farm with maritime history in its walls

Hattesgaard is one of Rømø's oldest farms and is located in the old village of Tvismark. The exact age of the farm has not been documented, but captains have lived here for generations, and items from the era of sailing ships can still be found on the farm. Outside, the terrace offers views towards the Wadden Sea, while according to the place itself, the coffee is served in old-fashioned porcelain cups.
