Endelave is one of Denmark’s most beautiful nature islands, with a rich variety of plants, animals and natural habitats.
Øvre
The entire northern tip, covering 160 hectares, is protected. The area is called Øvre and is a completely undeveloped natural area, created by the sea through the formation of a system of beach ridges. There are open coastal meadows, heather heath, pine scrub and several small forest lakes.
You need to take the ferry to Endelave. It sails daily between Endelave and Snaptun ferry harbour. The crossing takes one hour, and along the way you can enjoy the view and look for seals—and maybe spot a porpoise.
Endelave Airfield offers camping, a kitchenette, toilet, shower with cold water, and bicycles for guests arriving by air. There is neither an air traffic controller nor a radio, only polite self-service. Owner of the airfield: Jens Toft
