In Hanssinelund, even a short walk in the woods becomes a small literary search. The paths lead through a quiet grove, where poets’ names appear on rough natural stones among the trees. It is not a place of grand monuments, but of stones, moss, inscriptions, and the kind of details you easily miss if you walk too quickly.
The grove is connected to Ølgod Byskov and is best suited to a slow walk, following the nature trails and letting your eyes find the stones along the way. H.C. Andersen, Blicher, Aakjær, Grundtvig, and Pontoppidan are among the names you can look for.
Behind the place were the bookseller couple Hans and Sine Nielsen, who combined a love of reading, planting, and local initiative. The quietest of all is the stone without an inscription.
