Large spaces for contemporary art

CCA Andratx is an art centre where the scale is felt immediately: large, high-ceilinged exhibition rooms with concrete floors, white walls, and lighting that can be adapted to the changing exhibitions. Modern art by both local and international artists is shown here, and the programme can also include concerts and other cultural activities.

Art that is still in progress

The place is not only built for finished works on the wall. The Artist-in-Residence programme is a central part of CCA Andratx, and each month four international artists can work on site for one month. One Saturday a month, the centre holds Open Studios, where you can meet the current artists; the time and admission are stated as free from 11.00-14.00, but subject to change.

A Danish mark by the Tramuntana

The centre was founded by Jacob and Patricia Asbæk in 2001, so there is a clear Danish trace within its international profile. The building is described as modern and minimalist, but with features from traditional architecture, and the surrounding gardens can be part of the visit. Outside lies Sa Coma, with its valley, cultivated terraces, and pine-covered mountains at the foot of Serra de Tramuntana.
