Starting point between plantation and beach

Blochsgård is a practical stop in the middle of Kærgård Plantage, where forest, heath and dune heath change character over short distances. From here, the premium route begins, leading through the central part of the plantation and onward to Børsmose Strand before returning through the dune landscape.

Red deer country

The site lies in an area with a large red deer population, and the nature base has an exhibition about red deer and the nature they live in. That makes Blochsgård more than just a place to lace up your boots; it also provides a concrete introduction to why the area between Filsø and the North Sea is such a distinctive habitat.

The farmyard beneath your feet

The facilities are built on the site of the old Blochsgård. The cobblestone courtyard can still be seen, and the name goes back to Jens Bloch, who took over the farm in 1757. Later, the farm was bought by the Dune Administration, and the place changed from agriculture to the work and home of the dune planter. Today, the traces are more discreet: stones in the courtyard, pavilions sheltered from the wind, and paths leading out into the plantation.
